The MTA exhibition has a long history and is the largest and most influential professional international machine tool show in Vietnam. Every year, local branches of foreign companies, Vietnamese state-owned enterprises, and major corporate buyers participate in this grand industrial event. The show enjoys an excellent reputation and high recognition in both Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region. At the previous edition, it attracted 15,500 professional buyers and more than 450 exhibitors from over 18 countries worldwide, with overseas exhibitors accounting for 75% of the total.

According to statistics compiled by our association based on data from the Customs Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance, from January to September 2024, Vietnam was Taiwan’s 5th largest export market for machine tools, accounting for 3.6% of Taiwan’s total machine tool exports, with an export value exceeding US$58.56 million. At the same time, Taiwan is Vietnam’s 16th largest export market and 5th largest trading partner, reflecting close bilateral trade relations.

In recent years, under the trends of supply chain shortening and diversification, Vietnam has become a key link in global corporate布局. Local demand for manufacturing and processing has been growing year by year. In addition to the already booming automotive industry, the consumer electronics industry has also been on the rise, further driving strong demand for machine tools. According to statistics from the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI), the demand in Vietnam’s machinery market is expected to reach US$310 billion by 2030. It has clearly become a market that companies from various countries are eager to capture, and one of the key export markets that Taiwan’s machine tool industry should actively focus on.
